Safe Storage for Flammable Liquids
Keeping bottles of chemicals in a fume hood is a safety risk. The Justrite Sure-Grip EX Under Fume Hood Safety Cabinet with Self Close Doors is designed for the safe and code-compliant storage and venting of solvents and flammable liquids in laboratory environments within colleges, universities, pharmaceutical R&D settings, and more. This silver cabinet can store 19 gal (72 L) of flammable liquids and fits under chemical fume hoods, benches, and counters.
Ergonomic Design for Easy Access
The cabinet features an ergonomic design with a 4-in high by 3-in deep (102-mm high by 77-mm deep) toe kick, which makes it easier for chemical handlers to maintain an appropriate distance. Its exterior dimensions are 35.75 in H x 30 in W x 21.625 in D (908 mm H x 762 mm W x 549 mm D); its 35.75-in (908-mm) height includes leg levelers installed and extended 5/8-in (15.9-mm).
Construction and Fire Resistance
This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced.
High-Performance Doors and Self-Closing Mechanism
High-performance, self-closing doors open to 140 degrees. A patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space. Continuous piano hinges ensure the doors close smoothly every time. When used properly as designed, safety cabinets with self-closing doors shut automatically in case of a fire.
Additional Features and Certifications
The cabinet also features back wall vents with built-in flame arresters and a grounding connector to electrically bond directly to the chemical fume hood. Its durable lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish provides excellent chemical resistance inside and out, as well as minimizes the effects of corrosion and humidity. All Justrite cabinets carry a 10-year warranty and are tested and approved by FM Approvals, compliant with OSHA, NFPA 30, NFPA 1, and IFC requirements.
